What does enterprise system development mean at RiY?

An enterprise system at RiY is a custom internal application that runs your processes, not the other way around. Not a general-purpose boxed software you have to bend your company around, just the features you actually use, in the logic your team works in. Web-based, accessible from any browser, mobile-ready, integrated with your existing tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, invoicing, payroll, etc.).

What kind of enterprise systems do we build?

Our most common project types, each one we have built or are building:

  • Intranet: internal communication hub, news, documents, phonebook, colleagues, events, vacation requests, all in one place.
  • Fleet management: company cars, fuel, service, insurance, highway, mileage logs, courier and delivery routes, driver scheduling.
  • Ticketing: internal issue tracker, customer support ticketing, priority, deadlines, owners, status, SLA monitoring.
  • CRM: customer database, interaction history, quotes, contracts, follow-up reminders, sales pipeline, contact logging.
  • Internal portal: unified entry point to company services, permission management, document storage, FAQ, training materials.
  • Reporting system: automated reports, KPI dashboards, executive summaries, ad-hoc queries, Excel or PDF export.
  • Custom application: anything missing from your workflow: production tracking, project management, warehouse management, booking systems, certificate management, and more.

Who do we build enterprise systems for?

Our enterprise system service is for those whose existing software has become a bottleneck, or whose processes are so specific that no boxed solution fits. Typical clients:

  • small and mid-sized businesses (10 to 200 employees) for whom Google Sheets and email are no longer enough,
  • service companies (logistics, operations, accounting, law firms) handling daily tickets or orders,
  • sales-driven companies whose CRM and customer relations follow a unique sales process,
  • family businesses or niche-industry companies that have no fitting software on the market.

How does the development process work?

The process has 5 phases. 1. Discovery: we walk through your processes, look at the existing Excel sheets, Google Sheets, ad-hoc workarounds, and document what the system needs to do. 2. Prototype: we show a clickable mockup of how it will look and feel. No code yet, just logic and UX. 3. MVP development: we deliver a live system with the most important features, ready for real data, usually in 4 to 8 weeks. 4. Iteration: usage reveals what is missing, what is unnecessary, and we extend it weekly or biweekly. 5. Operations: hosting, backups, monitoring, updates, in a monthly package.

What technology do we use?

Modern, proven stack: Laravel (PHP) backend, Blade or Vue frontend, MySQL or PostgreSQL database. Hosting on our own infrastructure or on your server, your choice. Integration via REST API or webhooks with your existing systems (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, invoicing, payroll, BigCommerce, Shopify, etc.). User management, roles, permissions, audit log, GDPR compliance, all included by default.

How much does an enterprise system cost?

Enterprise system pricing varies a lot per project. Indicative: a focused internal tool (single process) from 1.000.000 HUF, a mid-size CRM or ticketing from 2.000.000 HUF, a complex intranet or fleet system above that range. Exact quote after discovery and prototype. We break large projects into phases so the first working version goes live early and the investment pays back fast.

Installment payments are always possible: phase-by-phase billing, or monthly retainer for larger projects. Operations (hosting, monitoring, small development) is billed separately as a monthly fee.

Why build a custom system?

A boxed software cannot fit every company, and if it does, you usually pay for a bunch of features you never use. The benefits of a custom enterprise system: it does exactly what is needed, not more, not less. Your data, your server, your control, you are not locked into a licensing model. It scales with you as the company grows. And when something is off, you can call us directly, not an off-shore support team.

Enterprise system FAQ

How long does it take to build an enterprise system?
A focused internal tool usually takes 4 to 8 weeks (MVP). A mid-size CRM or ticketing 8-12 weeks. A complex intranet or fleet system 2 to 4 months, but a working version is delivered after the first month and iteratively extended.

What if requirements change during development?
This is normal and expected. The post-MVP iteration is exactly for this: usage reveals what really matters, and we extend weekly or biweekly. We do not sign a fixed-scope contract, but a flexible framework where priorities are ranked together, continuously.

Who owns the source code?
You do. We hand over the full source code, it is yours, you can take it to any developer at any time. We recommend that we run the operations because we know the code, but we do not lock anyone in. No vendor lock-in is our principle.
